The Building
A 150 year old fruit packing barn on our farm was carefully dismantled, cleaned and repurposed into most of the woodwork in the retail and hospitality rooms. The panels and wainscoting on the tasting bar and retail areas were designed by the owner and crafted with help from farm employees. The period lighting hopes to reproduce the ambiance of a home in Niagara, Ontario. The front building is a close copy of an historic Queenston home from the early 1800’s.
The massive hand cut beams were repositioned in their original locations in the retail area. The barn rafters became ceiling beams. The floor joist were crafted into window sills and chair railing. The shiplap floor boards and exterior barn boards became wainscot trim and paneling. Support beams were made into fireplace mantels. Experience our fruit spirits tasting bar and patio area today at the Spirit in Niagara Distillery. Located in Niagara-on-the-lake, Ontario.
